Research Interests

Modern Chinese History, 20th Century East Asian Social History, Demograghy, Family and Marriage, Gender and Sexualities; State-Society Interaction; Quantitative History


Currently, my research is on the domestic variant of masculinities in Republican and Socialist China, focusing in urban cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing. I also envision my research to discuss marriage customs, and marital transactions in socialist and post-socialist China.
