Celebrating the Humanities

Celebrating the Humanities is an end-of-year event highlighting excellence in the Humanities Division by honoring our undergraduate award recipients and showcasing the Employing Humanities Initiative. This inaugural celebration merges two previous annual events— Spring Awards and the Employing Humanities Celebration —into one special gathering.

The event begins with a formal program and transitions into a networking reception. In addition to recognizing our outstanding Humanities undergraduate award recipients, attendees can explore three gallery walks— EXPLORE, EXCEL, and THI Undergraduate Research Fellows—showcasing students’ exceptional work and contributions across these programs.

Experiential Learning Showcase

Humanities EXCEL places students in community-based internships, while Humanities EXPLORE pairs them with faculty-led research projects—both designed to connect academic learning with real-world experience. Through these programs, students develop transferable skills, clarify career goals, and make meaningful contributions to both campus and community.

EXCEL and EXPLORE fellows have thoughtfully curated their work in this digital showcase to highlight their projects, share key insights, and reflect on their growth throughout the quarter. We invite you to explore their inspiring work and celebrate the impact of experiential learning in the humanities. THI Research Fellows also present their research posters at Celebrating the Humanities.
