The Healthy Humanities Initiative was offiicially launched in Summer 2016 by Kim Hwe, Manager of Academic Services and Evin Guy, Event Coordinator for the Institute of Humanities Research. The initiative focuses on creating a healthy and productive work environment by engaging employees in morale boosting and wellness activities such as quarterly lunch & learns, sustainability events, yoga and other fitness activities, etc.

Our goals and objectives are as follows:

  • Create a shift toward a positive and healthy work environment
  • Create a more collaborative culture and community among the division, promoting diversity and inclusion
  • Promote health and wellness through fitness activities (for all ages)
  • Promote a sense of responsibility to our community (and beyond) through volunteering and Green Team events

In Spring Quarter 2016, Dean Tyler Stovall graciously approved the proposal for annual funding (for the next two years) so the program could provide these activities and events for the division.

If you have any ideas you'd like to contribute or if you'd like volunteer to help set up events, please email us!
