Research Interests

 

My research explores carceral girlhood in Progressive Era New Orleans, through an examination of the House of the Good Shepherd, built in 1873, and the only reformatory in the US South that admitted all girls deemed "sexually delinquent" regardless of their race, ethnicity, class, nationality, religion, or language.
