The Dr. Raihan Kadri Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded annually in memory of alumnus Dr. A. Raihan Kadri (Stevenson ’98, Philosophy) and Humanities Undergraduate Research Award recipient, who passed away in 2014. His partner, Tracy Longley-Cook, established the Raihan Kadri Memorial Scholarship Award in 2015.
This award is based on financial need for a student demonstrating “a commitment to the field of Philosophical Studies,” and recommended by a faculty member.
LOUISA BELL
Philosophy
2021-22 Kadri Memorial Scholar
Louisa is a third year undergraduate Philosophy student. While majoring in the Humanities can be intimidating and come with a myriad of stigmas, Bell feels like this award reinforces that she is in the right department. As someone who has had to work to get herself through school, she believes that this makes a huge difference in her ability to be present and calm in my academic life regardless of finances. Once graduated, she hopes to pursue Law school.
