Literature (Creative Writing Concentration), Minor: History of Art and Visual Culture

2022-23 Jay Family Scholar

Gabriela Anger is a fourth year literature major in the Creative Writing department and recipient of the 2023 Jay Family Humanities Award and the Reyna Grade Scholarship. Growing up in the Inland Empire, Gabriela's work as a poet details the intersection between nature and infrastructure, highlighting features of her personal identity through problems of drought, poverty, familial histories, and illness. Along with being a writer, she is also an actress, musician, and cook, who uses these other facets of her selfhood to inform her poetic sensibilities.
