The C.L. Barber Endowment
This Endowment was created in 1982 by Cleo H. Barber in memory of her husband, Caesar. In 2017, the original purpose of the endowment was amended to provide a stipend for a University of California, Santa Cruz literature graduate student while the student is working as a textual consultant or dramaturg for a Shakespeare production by a Monterey Bay area theater.
The stipend will be administered by The Humanities Institute on behalf of Shakespeare Workshop, a research center of the The Humanities Institute. The recipient will be recommended by the faculty director of Shakespeare Workshop.
